Charleston Promise Neighborhood (CPN) is pleased to announce receipt of a $20,000 grant from the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, to support the children and families within the Charleston Promise Neighborhood communities. Funds will be used to increase support to CPN’s work in education and health literacy within the CPN Learning Community.

The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, recently awarded a $20,000 grant to the Charleston Promise Neighborhood in support of the organization’s initiative to promote students’ academic success through a partnership with the Charleston County School District.

CPN has influenced countless students in the CPN Learning Community schools through its teacher professional development, school-based health clinics, and mentoring and health literacy programs. TD’s grant will support continuing growth of CPN and its 2013 efforts that will allow for more opportunities for students and involve influential members of the community.

“Education is one of the pillars of the TD Charitable Foundation, and we continually seek ways to support students in our communities,” said Dixon Woodward, TD Bank Market President.  “TD is proud to support Charleston Promise Neighborhood and its great model to ensure each and every classroom in need has the proper tools to ensure today’s youth will be tomorrow’s leaders.”
